Write in the active voice: "I will eat spaghetti." not "Spaghetti
will be eaten by me."
Use a positive form. Instead of "It wasn’t cold." use "It was
warm."
Show, don't tell. Use specific, concrete language as opposed
to abstract. Omit needless words.
Vary your sentence structure.
Use similar forms to express similar ideas.
Keep relative words together in a long sentence.
Avoid switching tense.
The most prominent words of a sentence have a stronger impact at
the end of the sentence. |
